Founded in 2007
Rooted in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul
The Bishop Griffin Resource Center (BGRC) was established in 2007 through the guidance and support of Bishop Emeritus James A. Griffin (retired 2005), whose spirit of compassion has been a guiding principle for our ministry since the beginning.
We are a collaborative effort of several East side Columbus parishes: Christ the King, Holy Spirit, Seton Parish, and St. Thomas the Apostle. Together, we pool our resources to serve families living in zip codes 43209, 43213, 43219, 43227, and 43232.
Since our inception, BGRC has seen steady growth, becoming a lasting source of hope for those navigating financial hardship — immigrants, seniors raising grandchildren, and families in crisis. Tens of thousands of our neighbors have crossed our threshold and received material assistance, emotional support, and hope.
Whether someone needs fresh groceries, clothing for an interview, or just a listening ear, our doors are open. We serve our neighbors without discrimination, honoring the dignity of every person who walks through our doors.

Our Faith
As a Special Work of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Diocesan Council of Columbus, the Bishop Griffin Resource Center follows Christ through service to those in need and so bears witness to His compassionate and liberating love.

Leadership & Board
Guiding our mission with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to service.
